Sjogren’s Syndrome and Oral Care – A Review
Abstract: Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) is a complex autoimmune disease characterized by a broad spectrum of clinical and serological manifestations. Patients with SS experience immune-mediated destruction of salivary and lacrimal glands leading to reduced lacrimal and salivary flow. Dry eyes and dry mouth together with fatigue are among the most common complaints. Extraglandular manifestations, such as involvement of the peripheral nervous, pulmonary, or gastrointestinal system, kidney, skin, myalgias, and arthralgias, are frequently …

Steven johnson Syndrome
Abstract: Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) is an immune-complex–mediated hypersensitivity complex that typically involves the skin and the mucous membranes. While minor presentations may occur, significant involvement of oral, nasal, eye, vaginal, urethral, gastrointestinal, and lower respiratory tract mucous membranes may develop during the illness. GI and respiratory involvement may progress to necrosis. Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a serious systemic disorder with the potential for severe morbidity and even death.

Recent Advances in Aquasomes Carrier Nanotechnology for Drug Delivery
Abstract: Aquasomes are a nanobiopharmaceutical carrier device with nanocrystalline calcium phosphate or ceramic diamond particle center and a polyhydroxyl oligomeric film covering them. Aquasomes are spherical 60–300 nm objects that are used to deliver drugs and antigens. It was an effective carrier mechanism for bioactive molecules such as peptides, proteins, hormones, antigens, and genes to particular locations because of properties such as defense and preservation of fragile biological molecules, conformational integrity, …

Strategies for Management of Needle-Related Procedural Pain and Distress in Children: A Literature Review
Abstract: Background: Pain is a highly prevalent problem in children. It is a predominantly subjective emotional distress that also leads to impairment in the quality of life. Medical procedures that are applied using a needle, such as venipuncture and immunization are the most common and important sources of pain for children, causing anxiety, distress and fear. Pain management before the first painful medical procedure in children may reduce pain-related negative emotional …

Magnetic Field Guided Diluted Magnetic Semiconductor, ZnxFe2-xO3 Nanoparticles for Biomedical and Biosensing Application
Abstract: The magnetic field guided nanoparticles are studied in the viewpoint of diluted magnetic semiconductor. Different structures and properties associated with Zn doped αFe2O3 nanostructures are presented in theoretical formulations. In addition, scientific methods of synthesizing particularly Solvothermal and biological methods of synthesizing Zn0.6Fe1.6O3 nanoparticles are discussed. More emphasis is given to the essence of nanotechnology from non-organic to organic matter namely nanoparticles of Zn0.6Fe1.6O3 to DNA. For in vivo or …

Xerostomia and Salivary Gland Hypofunction: From Pathophysiology to Nanotechnology‑Enabled Regenerative Therapies
Abstract: Xerostomia, the subjective sensation of oral dryness, is a common yet frequently underrecognized condition with multifactorial etiology and substantial consequences for oral and systemic health. Salivary gland hypofunction underlies many, but not all, cases and may result from medication use, head and neck radiotherapy, autoimmune disease, systemic illnesses, or age-related and hormonal changes. Persistent xerostomia impairs mastication, swallowing, speech, taste, and sleep, and predisposes to dental caries, periodontal disease, oral …

Unraveling the Health Risks of Microplastics in School Children Water Bottles: A Systematic Review
Abstract: Microplastics (MPs), pervasive environmental pollutants, pose escalating threats to human health, with children emerging as a critically vulnerable population. This systematic review, guided by PRISMA protocols, synthesizes evidence from 2015–2025 on MPs exposure risks from reusable plastic water bottles among school-aged children (4–15 years). Findings reveal significant MPs leaching into drinking water, influenced by bottle material such as PET and PP, usage duration, and cleaning practices. Children ingest an estimated …

Assessing the prevalence of exclusive breast feeding and its associated factors among mothers attending outpatient departments of selected hospital, Ernakulam.
Abstract: Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) has important benefits for both, the mother and child. The rate of growth of the infants during the first six months of life is greater and faster than any other period of life. Keeping this in mind, the baby should be nursed adequately which allows easy digestion and absorption. Therefore, the present study assessed the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding and its associated factors among mothers attending paediatric …
