Controlled Texture of Magnetron Sputtered Transparent Conducting ZnO: Al Films for Solar Cell Applications
Abstract: Textured transparent and conducting ZnO:Al films were prepared by rf-magnetron sputtering on glass substrate at a temperature 3500C under Ar and Ar+O2 gas ambient. ZnO:Al thin films shows a minimum electrical resistivity of (~8.210-4 Ω-cm), and high optical transmittance (T~86–90% average) in visible region. With increasing of oxygen concentration ZnO:Al films become more compact, stoichiometric and becomes more electrically resistive. ZnO:Al shows hexagonal wurtzite polycrystalline structure with strong (002) orientations. …

Preparation of Cu2O/ZnO Heterojunction Thin Film Solar Cell grown by RF Magnetron Sputtering
Abstract: Both cuprous oxide (Cu2O) and zinc oxide (ZnO) hold a very important position in the fields of materials science due to great potential in many acoustic, electric and optical applications. Cu2O, a direct-gap semiconductor with band gap energy of 2.0 eV has been regarded as one of the most promising materials for application to photovoltaic cells, especially for the top cell in a tandem structure. The attractiveness of Cu2O and …

A review on Surface engineering and its methods.
Abstract: Surface engineering is the process of creating a surface/substrate composite system that achieves performance that neither the surface composition nor the substrate alone can achieve. This is achieved by modifying the substrate surface to improve beauty, provide environmental protection, or increase mechanical or physical performance.. Surface engineering plays a significant role in tribology and modifies or coats a component's surface to improve its properties. This article logically analyses a wide …

Effects of Tungstate and Nitrite Ions as Corrosion Inhibitor for Cr-10Zr-10W Alloy in 0.5 M NaCl Solution
Abstract: The effect of different concentrations of tungstate and nitrite ions as corrosion inhibitors on the corrosion behavior of the sputter-deposited ternary Cr–10Zr–10W alloy was studied in 0.5 M NaCl solution open to air at 25±1°C using corrosion tests and corrosion potential measurement. The use of both the tungstate and nitrite ions enhanced the corrosion resistance properties of the alloy in 0.5 M NaCl solution. It is found that the tungstate …

Assessment on the Effecs of Sodium Salts of Tungstate and Nitrite as Green Inhibitor for the Corrosion of Cr–5Ni–53W Alloy in 0.5 M NaCl Solution
Abstract: Corrosion inhibition effect of sodium salts of tungstate and nitrite on the sputter-deposited ternary Cr–5Ni–53W alloy was investigated in 0.5 M NaCl solution open to air at 25±1 °C using corrosion test, inhibition mechanism and corrosion potential measurement. The use of sodium salts of both the tungstate and nitrite enhanced the corrosion resistance properties of the ternary alloy in 0.5 M NaCl solution, mostly due to tungstate and nitrite ions …

Deposition and Characterization of ZnO Thin Films by Thermal Vacuum Thermal Evaporation Method for Photoconductive Sensor Application
Abstract: In this work we have deposited ZnO thin films using thermal evaporation method. The films have been deposited on silicon substrate for structural characterization and on glass substrate for optical characterization. The structural, surface morphology, optical properties and electrical properties of ZnO thin films were investigated systematically using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), ellipsometeric measurement and semiconductor parameter analyzer respectively. The deposited ZnO thin …

Expedition to Nanosynthesis: A Review
Abstract: Semiconducting metal oxide (like SnO2, ZnO, Ga2O3, Co3O4,TiO2, WO3, etc.) based gas sensors are widely used for the detection of the gases like H2, CO, Nox, CH4 and other hydrocarbons due to its smaller particle size as well as higher surface to volume ratio. Presently several nanoforms of metal oxides like rods, combs, rings, springs, wires, belts, propellers are becoming popular in the field of optoelectronics, ultra-sensitive nanosized gas sensors, …
