Identification of significant parameters for the production of Jatropha biodiesel using preliminary experimentation
Abstract: The current research work is on Jatropha biodiesel for finding the significant parameters in optimum biodiesel yield. The one factor at a time approach is applied in the esterification. The trans-esterification reaction is used by mixing of Jatropha oil and ethanol in the presence of catalyst KOH. After some time two products are formed a Jatropha biodiesel and a glycerin. The density of glycerin is more as compared to biodiesel. …

Study on Electrical Resistivity of Metakaolin Concrete
Abstract: The present work studies the electrical resistivity of metakaolin concrete containing metakaolin at water–binder ratios 0.58, 0.55, 0.50 and 0.45. Cement was replaced with 0%–15% MK. The optimum replacement level was found 10%. Testing included measurement of electrical resistivity (ER), compressive strength and flexural strength (DT); rebound hammer; and ultrasonic pulse velocity test. ER increases with MK content, age and reduction in W/b ratio. The interrelation between ER and compressive …
