Facile Fabrication of Durable Superhydrophobic Coatings on SS 304 for biomedical applications
Abstract: A simple and effective method to fabricate durable superhydrophobic coatings by combining shot-blasting and depositing sol-gel nanocomposite coatings on stainless steel SS 304 substrates has been investigated. Shot-blasting was used for two purposes; 1) as a method of physical modification for creating microscale roughness on the substrate and 2) for improving the adhesion of the nanocomposite coatings deposited thereafter. Organic-inorganic hybrid hydrophobic silica sol was synthesized where silica nanoparticles were …

Three body Abrasive wear behavior of A356 Aluminum alloy in different Solution treated condition
Abstract: In the present study, solution treatment of A356 Al alloy was carried out in three different ways namely T4-Solution Treatment – TB Condition, T5-Precipitation (Ageing) – TE Condition and T6-Solution Treatment and Precipitation Hardening – TF Conditions. Three body abrasive tests were carried out for all the solution treated samples as well as base metal. The influence of the heat treatment on the microstructure, hardness and abrasive wear resistance behaviour …

“MODIFIED SEWING MACHINE WORKSTATION DESIGN BY USING TAGUCHI APPROACH”
Abstract: The study was based on design of experiment using Taguchi Orthogonal Array with three parameters namely height of sewing machine table, angular movement of sewing machine table & sliding movement of sewing machine table considered for experimentation. An orthogonal Array of L9 experimental design was adopted & 3 angles namely trunk angle, head angle & neck angle was measured for each experimental run. Then the reading for female & male …

Enhancement of Wear Resistance of AISI D2 Steel Slitter using Deep Cryogenic Treatment
Abstract: The cooling of material below-150C for sufficient soaking period is termed as deep cryogenic treatment (DCT). There is an improvement in wear resistance and hardness of tool and die steels due to deep cryogenic treatment. The improvement in wear resistance is observed due to precipitation of fine secondary carbides and even distribution of carbides. In present study, the slitters of AISI D2 cold work air hardening type tool steel are …

A Review on Comparative Study on Performance of Vertical Cantilever Tuned Mass Damper and Base Isolators in Response Reduction of Multistory Building
Abstract: The present work concerned with the study on the comparison of performance of vertical cantilever beam as tuned mass damper (TMD) and the base isolator in high-rise RCC structure. The vertical TMD will be at the top floor at the position of interior columns and the mass of the TMD will be tuned with the primary structure. The base isolator like sliding bearing system will be designed for a multistory …

An Optimized Design of the Standard Manual Wheelchair
Abstract: The manual wheel chair is commonly found in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, senior housing and airports for allowing patients, people with physical disabilities or for elderly people. Transferring mishaps are one of the major causes for injuries. Moreover, all the transferring actions between wheelchair and other surfaces are difficult for wheelchair users. This project is aimed at optimizing the existing design of a standard manual wheelchair by introducing a height adjusting …

Structural Analysis of a Single Tool Post
Abstract: This paper provides practical simulation analysis of a Single Tool Post using the Fusion 360 graphic program. A Single Tool Post has a predominantly cylindrical body joined with a collar at the base. A slot is present in the body to hold the tool for further operations. The tool is placed on top of the hemispherical wedge in the slot. The tool is tightly placed in the slot with the …

Impact of Education on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Anemia Among Adolescent Girls Between the Age Group of 13–17 years Studying in Secondary School, Farasan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Abstract: Anemia is one of the most frequent dietary deficiencies. It affects people of all ages in most Saudi Arabian states. Anemia in adolescents is a severe public health problem in Saudi Arabia, the prevalence rate is 42%. A lack of nutritional understanding is one of the most common causes of dietary disorders and, as a result, poor practice, which can have a variety of implications. The goal of this study …
