Effect of Environmental Parameters on Metal Corrosion in Soil Using Finite Element Method
Abstract: Deterioration of buried metal due to corrosive soil environment is a major issue worldwide. Although failure of buried metal due to corrosive soil is an old problem, yet such failures are still uncontrollable even with the application of advanced corrosion protection technologies. Therefore, understanding environmental parameters causing corrosion of buried metals are necessary. This research work reviews environmental parameters causing corrosion of buried metal in soils. These functional parameters include: …

Parametric Analysis and Optimization of Nuclear Assisted Electrolytic Hydrogen Production System for On-site Applications
Abstract: The use of compact water electrolyser units as an alternative source of hydrogen to the high pressure hydrogen cylinder banks used at present in nuclear and thermal power reactors for turbo-generator rotor cooling applications has been analysed in this work. Financial metrics have been used for assessment of the technology substitution in the nuclear industry in India, primarily by comparing the levelised costs of onsite hydrogen generation in small generators …

Utilization of leaves of mulberry, Morusalba (L) for the preparation of healthy food, Paratha, the cooked dough
Abstract: Indian subcontinent is famous for the paratha, the flatbread. The present attempt deals with preparation of paratha through utilization of leaves of mulberry, Morusalba (L) and it’s assessment for the health parameters. The ingredients used for paratha are whole meal wheat flour; white wheat flour; salt; dried leaves of mulberry, Morus alba (L); curry leaves; herbs de provence; rapeseed oil and fresh extract of leaves of mulberry, Morus alba (L). …

Study of the energy utilisation characteristics of solid state hydrogen storage and recovery systems
Abstract: The energy usage patterns during solid state hydrogen storage and retrieval on commercially available hydride forming alloys have been examined in this work through thermodynamic model based calculations, considering the entire storage and recovery system. It is calculated that energy (mechanical and thermal) equivalent to about 16 to 30% of the stored hydrogen energy is involved in the hydriding step, while 9 to 40% of the stored hydrogen energy equivalent …

Separation of p-xylene from xylene isomer mixtures within a single stage porous batch cooling crystallizer
Abstract: Crystallization based separation of p-xylene from its isomer mixtures were mostly accomplished in stirring crystallizers, suspension crystallizer and scrapping crystallizer followed by centrifugation. In this work, separation process for p-xylene, where both crystallization and separation of p-xylene in a single batch crystallizer, was performed. Upon cooling, p-xylene, which has the higher melting point than other xylene isomers (o-xylene and m-xylene), crystallizes first. Xylene mixture samples were crystallized at a lower …
