Biokinetic Model of Crude Oil degradation: The Integration of Moringa-Alcohol-Water Root Extracts

  1. C. P. Ukpaka

Abstract

Mathematical model was developed to study the crude oil degradation on the effect of moringa-alcohol-water root extracts. In different soils environment of Niger Delta area of Nigeria. The mass of moringa in alcohol and water used for this research work is 500g and 600g. In all cases the  decrease with increase in the period of exposure (Time) for remediation of the contaminated soil types studied for the first order rate constant. The second rate constant was examined and the  increases with increase in the period of exposure (time) with moringa treatment in all the different soil types used. The regression equation of the variable is denoted by the bioremediation time whereas the time coefficient is the total petroleum hydrocarbon   degradation constant . The results obtained from this studies reveals that moringa roots in water is more effective in bioremediation of  in different soil types than moringa in alcohol fermented medium. Finally, this research work demonstrates the usefulness of moringa root extracts in a fermented alcohol and water media for crude oil remediation in different soil types.Keywords.
