Current status on the preparation method and applications of iron oxide nanomaterials: A review

Abstract

Iron oxide nanoparticles are now gaining interests in the field of nanobiotech and pharmaceuticals for their important applications. The target oriented drug delivery of Fe3O4 has gained more attention for various advantages of it. Iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles focus on offering local drug delivery, reduced side effects and controlled drug release for prolonged period of time addressing problems of health tissue damage and drug waste. In this review, we discuss the preparation methods and properties of iron oxide nanoparticles as well as its applications explored in various fields, such as nanorobotics, drug delivery and also in energy devices.
