Ethno-Medicinal Uses of Pteridophytes of Dehradun and Adjoining Areas
Abstract: Pteridophytes are a group of plants that reproduce via spores rather than seeds and include ferns, horsetails, and club mosses. However, recent scientific investigations have revealed that pteridophytes hold a significant place in traditional medicine systems and can provide a range of therapeutic benefits. This study aims to bridge this gap by examining the medicinal potential of pteridophytes and identifying ethnomedicinal pteridophytes thriving in the Dehradun region and its surrounding …

Exploring Plant Biotechnology: Harnessing Pteridophytes for Medical and Agricultural Advancements
Indigenous peoples have used these pteridophytes’ medicinal capabilities to treat a variety of illnesses for decades. This study aims to bridge this gap by examining the …

Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Leaf Extract of Calpurnia Aurea and Evaluation of its Antibacterial Activity
Abstract: Synthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts is an emerging as a new and effective method that avoids the involvement of toxic chemicals. In this study AgNPs synthesized using Calpurnia aurea leaf extracts were evaluated for their antibacterial activity. The green synthesized AgNPs were characterized using analytical instruments like UV–visible, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The UV-Vis spectra shows surface Plasmon resonance peak present at 429 nm. The …

Seaweed Mediated Biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Gracilaria fergusonii J.Ag. Collected From Hare Island, Thoothukudi in the South East Coast of Tamil Nadu, India
Abstract: In the present study silver nanoparticles were synthesized using the aqueous extract of red seaweed Gracilaria fergusonii J.Ag. as the reducing agent. The formation of silver nanoparticles was confirmed by colour change from light yellow to dark brownish red, UV– visible spectroscopy, FT-IR, X-ray diffraction method (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis spectroscopy (EDS). The anoparticles showed an absorbance at 442 nm on UV–visible spectroscopy. The …
