Kinetics of Oxidation of L-Proline by Hexacyanoferrate (III) Ion in Presence of Os (VIII)
Abstract: Amino acids are building block of proteins and maintaining a vital role in growth of human beings as well as animals. Amino acids may form metal complexes and other complexes in animal and human body. Therefore, the study of oxidation of amino acids as well as their complexes is interesting area for academicians and physicians. Amino acids are the compounds of two functional groups -NH2 and –COOH. Hence depending on …

Physiochemical Mechanism Associated with Drought Tolerance in Tomato
Abstract: Abiotic stresses are one of the key limitations to global crop production and food security. Among the abiotic stresses, drought is one of the most vital factors that cause changes in morphological, biochemical, and physiological characteristics in plants, and consequently affects the growth and productivity of crops. The main purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effect of drought on physiological traits (ratio of root/shoot length, leaf area …

Somatic Embryogenesis from Immature Zygotic Embryos of Sterculia alata Roxb. and Monitoring the Ontogeny and the Genetic Fidelity of Somatic Embryos
Abstract: A protocol for the induction of somatic embryogenesis from immature zygotic embryos of Sterculia alata was established. The highest induction frequency for somatic embryogenesis was achieved using 3 mm size of zygotic embryos as explants on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 2,4-D (2.0 mgl–1) + BAP (0.1 mgl–1) and 3% sucrose. The embryogenic calli differentiated when transferred to MS basal medium (maintenance medium) after three weeks treatment in …

Quantification of some Bioactive components and Antioxidant Activity of Various Uniflora Origin Bee Honey Collected During 2016 from East Libya
Abstract: In this study seven honey samples from three different cities of East Libya were collected in order to evaluate their biochemical properties and antioxidant activities. The results show that the proline content ranged from 77.32-222.43mg/kg. The total phenolic and total flavonoid contents ranged from 62.75-156.30mg/100g and from 13.94-78.31mg/100g, respectively. While the carotenoids content ranged from 1.0-7.38mg/kg. The antioxidant activities of Libyan honey samples were also investigated, based on free radical …

Role of Vitamin C on Wound Healing
Abstract: Vitamin C is otherwise called ascorbic acid. Vitamin C is required for the synthesis of collagen, a fibrous protein that helps reinforce the connective tissues that hold together the structures of the body. It is also a highly effective antioxidant protecting cells from damage by free radicals. The five nutrients that are essential for wound healing are Protein, Vitamin C, Zinc, Carbohydrate & Vitamin A. Vitamin C is often aligned …
