Polynomial Thevenin Resistance Networks for Spice Simulation
Abstract: Two networks with resistors and independent sources are considered to compute Thevenin resistance. A different network is considered where the Thevenin resistance from the previous independent networks is to be incorporated (in a polynomial representation). Different methods using Spice/Pspice software to obtain the above representation are described. SPICE/OrCAD software is used to obtain equivalent circuits for Thevenin equivalent network parameters used in polynomial form are described and other different networks …

T-π, π-T Network Conversion for Three Identical Impedances and Equivalent Thevenin Networks Using Pspice Software
Abstract: Conversion methods of T-π (star-delta) π-T for impedances circuits, the behavioural modeling of Pspice simulation program is used to obtain equivalent circuits for two types of passive equivalents consisting of three impedance/resistance in two configurations using LAPLACE option of analog behavioural modelling. The conversions are verified for two types of circuits by obtaining AC values of voltages and currents at various nodes and branches using Pspice computer simulations. Two port …

Wind Power: Voltage and Power Quality Control System
Abstract: Power quality is a critical issue in a power system. The nonlinear nature of loads causes the majority of the pollution problems in the power system. Wind power, in general, does not contribute to voltage regulation in grids due to the large amount of non-linear equipment, impact, and fluctuating loads. Wind power is also frequently a source of voltage sag or swell. Power systems are frequently regarded as insufficient because …

A Critical Review of Harmonics and Mitigation Techniques in Power Systems
Abstract: The application of nonlinear loads in electrical power systems has increased significantly in recent years. These include variable speed drives (VSDs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), industrial rectifiers, welding machines, fluorescent lighting systems (Electronic ballast), computers, electronic appliances and other equipment with switched mode power supplies (SMPS) all of which have nonlinear voltage-current characteristics and produce harmonic distortions on the power system. Power system reliability and normal operation of electrical equipment …

Switch-Mode MOSFETs for Class A Radio Frequency Amplification
Abstract: Vertical double diffused MOSFETs (“VDMOSFETs”) developed for switching power supplies were successfully used in high voltage, high frequency linear amplifier circuits. These high voltage power switches are surprisingly useful for linear RF power amplifiers and transmitters. In most of theirintended applications such as in switching power supplies or switched digital amplifiers, VDMOSFETs are pulsed by a high voltage and the pulsed output is heavily filtered. This avoids the linear region …
