Toward Sustainable Intelligence: A Framework for Green AI Adoption
Abstract: The rapid expansion of Artificial Intelligence has shattered the illusion of the cloud as an ethereal entity, revealing a massive physical infrastructure with a staggering environmental price tag. The traditional Red AI paradigm – where success is measured solely by accuracy through brute-force scaling – has created an unsustainable trajectory. Training a single large-scale model like GPT-3 requires 1,287 MWh of electricity, while the necessary cooling systems evaporate millions of …

AI-Assisted Conversion and Optimization of Analog-to-Digital Signal Transmission forLow-Power IoT and Edge Devices
Abstract: The booming implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) and edge computing devices is requiring theimplementation of efficient signal transmission mechanisms to balance between performance and energyefficiency. The current paper introduces an AI-assisted conversion and optimization system of the analog-to-digital (A/D) signal transmission, aimed at low-power IoT and edge devices. The given strategy combines both machine learning algorithms and adaptive sampling and quantization methods to optimize the A/D conversion process in …

A Review of Video Compression Technique of an Efficient Rate-Distortion
Abstract: The digital video compression technology has been gaining popularity for many years. Today, when people enjoy HDTV (high-definition television), movie broadcasting through the Internet, or the digital music, such as MP3, the convenience that the digital video industry brings to us cannot be forgotten. All of these should attribute to the advances in compression technology, enhancement on mass storage media, or streaming video/audio services. Most rate-distortion optimized division way of …

Antenna and Beam-Control Optimization of RIS-Assisted 6G Links: Phase Resolution, Directivity and Energy Efficiency
Abstract: This paper presents an antenna-oriented investigation of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted sixth- generation (6G) wireless links, emphasizing practical design factors beyond conventional RIS versus non-RIS bit-error-rate comparisons. Four parameters are evaluated: phase-shifter resolution, reflected-beam directivity, aperture-dependent spectral efficiency, and controller-aware energy efficiency. A Rayleigh-fading binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) link is used for reliability analysis, while the RIS is modeled as a uniformly spaced reflective aperture through its array factor. The …
