Empirical Model Relativity of Flexural and Compressive Strength of Concrete Produced with Foundry Waste Sand as Partial Replacement
Abstract: The evaluation presented in this research is to establish the correlation between compressive strength of concrete and flexural strength of concrete of grade 20 at mix ratio of 1:2:4 produced using foundry waste sand as a partial replacement for river sand at different replacement level of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The aimed compressive strength was achieved at 15% replacement and the corresponding flexural strength of 3.14 N/mm2was …

Optimizing Concrete Properties with Partial Replacement of River Sand by Used Foundry Sand
Abstract: In response to the scarcity and rising costs of natural river sand, researchers are exploring alternatives like Used Foundry Sand (UFS) to promote sustainable construction practices. This study investigates the partial replacement of river sand with UFS, testing replacement levels from 0% to 25% by weight. Assessing fresh concrete properties and mechanical characteristics, including compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and flexural strength, the research focuses on M20 and M30 concrete …

A Review on Reduction of Scrap in Foundry by Using of Quality Control Tools
Abstract: Casting is one of the oldest manufacturing processes and is a primary manufacturing process. Products originating from castings are the input for many manufacturing processes such as forging, machining, rolling, wire drawing, extrusion, and welding. Therefore, the product made from casting should be a good quality product without defects or with minimum defects. Indeed, the quality of the products reduces as a reason of many process parameters such as molten …

Implementation of Product Lifecycle Management in Small Scale Foundry in the Area of Product Data Management: A Case Study
Abstract: In this paper, the PDXpert engineering data management software utilized for case study in the domain of Product data management (PDM) of product lifecycle management (PLM) in a small scale foundry. The implementation of PDM helped the manufacturers to manage the information traditionally contained in engineering documents, plant floor routings, change orders, sales orders and quality documentation, within a single solution that shared across the enterprise. Also, improved the accessibility …

Safety Precautions and Current Scenario: A Perspective Approach for Indian Foundrymen
Abstract: Metal Casting is the primary manufacturing process handled by foundrymen. Molding, melting, Liquid metal pouring and fettling are the main jobs to perform. Generally, the temperature of the molten metal handled by the workers for nonferrous industry varies from 800–12000C and for ferrous it varies from 1600–20000C. So, safety precautions need extensive care to perform such operations for ferrous and nonferrous both type of foundry need. Few fields visit were …

Analyzing Strength Properties of Self-Compacting Concrete at Elevated Temperatures
Abstract: This study investigates the influence of fly ash substitution for Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) on the compressive and splitting tensile strengths of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) mixes. The findings reveal that while early age strength may decrease with fly ash substitution, strategic material selection, such as incorporating foundry sand, mitigates this decline. Satisfactory fresh properties were achieved across SCC mixes labeled SCC1-SCC4, with compressive strengths ranging from 30.49 to 19.19 MPa …

Influence of Type and Size of Fine Aggregate on Glass Fiber Reinforced Self-Compacting Mortars (GFRSCM)
Abstract: Abstract This paper addresses the fresh and hardened state behavior of glass fiber reinforced self-compacting mortars (GFSCMs) with various types and sizes of fine aggregate. Mini-slump flow and mini V-funnel tests were performed to evaluate the workability of GFSCMs. Compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength tests at the end of 28 days of water curing were determined. Water sorptivity tests were conducted on 28-day cured cube specimens. The …

Hardware Protection of Design Data for Integrated Circuits: A Review
Abstract: Due to globalization of integrated circuit (IC) design flow, the supply chain elements can pirate ICs, overbuild ICs and insert hardware Trojans. Ending piracy of ICs is locked by inserting additional keys and only a correct key makes the design to produce correct outputs. Test of ICs is essential to ensure their quality; the test is meant to prevent defective ICs from entering into the supply chain. Due to the …
