Sound-based Bird Classification Using Perceptual Features and Machine Learning: A Gaussian Mixture Model
Abstract: Classification of birds based on their sound patterns and identification of bird species found in the chirping sounds of birds were experimented with using the feature extraction method. This work is beneficial in ornithology to study birds and their behavior based on their sounds. The proposed methods can automatically classify birds by different sound processing. The audio file of a bird’s sound recording is first cut into smaller samples, and …

A Study to analyze compliance to timing of thrombolytic loading dose among patient with acute myocardial infarction and its impact on patient outcomes
Abstract: Thrombolytic medications work by breaking down large blood clots, allowing blood to flow back to the heart and reducing the risk of heart muscle damage. These agents can help prevent a heart attack from progressing to a myocardial infarction, which can be life-threatening. Fibrinolytic drugs are the preferred treatment for STEMI, as they promote reperfusion and restore blood flow when given within 12 hours of symptom onset. A 12- hour …

Reducing Operational Energy Consumption in Traditional Buildings through Retrofitting
Abstract: Buildings consume a major chunk of total energy. Operational and Embodied energy are two components through which energy is consumed in a building. For a typical building its operational energy has to be controlled because it is consumed throughout the building’s life. In traditional buildings, energy saving measures were more passive but now days, increasing energy consumption in building requires active measures to be incorporated. Therefore, to prevent buildings from …

Analysis of the Degradation of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) in a Polluted Stagnant Salt and Fresh Water Environment
Abstract: TPH dispersion in both water media was investigated using a transport model that included convective and diffusion factors. This model was used to track the TPH concentration in both vertical and horizontal dimensions. Therefore, it was expected that diffusion alone would regulate TPH transport or spreading in the x-direction, or horizontal direction, while diffusion and convection caused by gravity would control TPH transport in the vertical direction. As a result, …
