Friction Stir Processing & Aging on Fatigue Properties of Different Alloy: A Review
Abstract: The FSP process is a thermo mechanical processing techniques which is carried out by means of pin tool that will heat and mechanically deformed the material. FSP has been developed to produce UFG by applying compressive load with a suitable Tool. To enhance the mechanical properties like strength, fatigue, hardness as well as other properties like optical, electrical, magnetic the microstructure is that decides them. We refine grains by large …

Impact, Flexural, and Hardness Properties of AISI 1018 Mild Steel Butt Joint Welded using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) under Various Welding Parameters
Abstract: AbstractThe effects of welding parameters such as welding current, voltage, and travel speed on the impact, flexural, and hardness properties of AISI 1018 mild steel using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) were investigated. In this research, specimen sizes of 500 mm x 10 mm x 10 mm and 5.5 mm x 10 mm x 10 mm were fabricated according to ASTM standards. In addition, a v-groove had been prepared at …

Review of Optimization Process Parameters in Welding system
Abstract: This study was based on design of experiment (DOE) using Taguchi method with four welding parameters namely welding current, welding speed, root gap and electrode angle considered for experimentation. An orthogonal array of L9 experimental design was adopted and ultimate tensile strength was investigated for each experimental run. The tensile test was carried out on extracted welded and unwelded specimens using universal testing machine (UTM). Microstructures of the welded specimens …

Characterization of AL-2014 TIG Welded Joints
Abstract: Abstract – This experimental study presents a comprehensive investigation into the tensile strength of TIG-welded butt joints made from Al-2014 alloy, a material that find applications in aerospace and structural engineering due to its excellent machinability and high strength to weight ratio. Welding Al-2014 alloy is challenging because it is more prone to hot cracking, oxide layer formation and thermal distortion. Therefore, it is very important to optimize welding parameters …

Characterization of Tensile Properties of Dissimilar Welded Joints of 316 Stainless Steel and HSLA Steel
Abstract: In this research, dissimilar weld joints of 316 stainless steel/HSLA steel were produced using ER316L-16 and E7018 filler metals by varying welding parameters such as current and arc voltage. Heat input and travel speed was computed. The joints were subjected to tensile test and tensile values were determined, computed, recorded and analysed. The heat inputs were compared with the tensile test results. According to the results obtained and analysis carried …
