Assessing trends in Speciation of First-Row Transition Metals in Children's Playgrounds of Owerri, Nigeria
Abstract: Chemical species of metals affect toxicity but trends of these metals species in soils are less studied. This study examined the trends and variability of species of metals in soils from playgrounds within Owerri. Eighty-one composite soil samples from nine playgrounds were collected in dry and rainy season to reflect spatio-seasonal variability. Samples were characterized by standard methods in triplicates and then extracted sequentially. Concentrations of metal species were determined …

Sorption of Pb (II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) by synthesized nanocrystalline sodium potassium flurophlogopite (FGP)
Abstract: We have successfully synthesized nanocrystalline sodium potassium fluorophlogopite (FGP) crystals with controlled sizes from ≈ 25 nm to 100nm, using an organic tetrapropylammonium (TPA) hydroxide. We have been successfully synthesized material depends on the source of silicate and hydrothermal crystallization conditions. The synthesized materials were characterized by using different techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Energy Dispersive Analysis, Scanning Electron Microscope, Transmission Electron Microscopy and FTIR analysis. The use of sodium …

Analytical Evaluation of heavy metals in eyeshadows: A Risk assessment and Implications for Public Health Regulatory Reforms in Nigeria
Abstract: This study employs advanced analytical techniques to assess heavy metal contamination (Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Zn) in 18 commercially available eyeshadow products (local and imported) from Owerri Metropolis, Nigeria. Quantification was conducted using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), while risk evaluations incorporated chemometric modeling approaches. Results revealed significant contamination in locally manufactured brands, particularly those containing calabash chalk (Nzu) as a base ingredient. Lead and nickel concentrations reached 166.58 ± 6.5 …

How Interdependency of Living Being Impacts the Development of a Biodiversity: In Context to Urban Ecology
Abstract: In many respects, organisms depend on the interactions they have with their surroundings and other living things. Biodiversity is the variability of many organisms with their ecological complexes in which they fall. The diversity of living organisms can be within them or possibly between them. Either directly or indirectly, both plants and animals depend on each other. The way they depend on, forms compatibility with their surroundings. Originally, plants were …

Garnet Intermetallic Compound to Memory Achievement
Abstract: This article subtended optimism to infer as of inter-bond speciation as from varying degrees of crystalarticulated formation to the horizon in the photonix arena. Colourless synthetic cubic crystal hasconfigurable mechanical, thermal and electro-optical properties. Gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG,Gd3Ga5O12) has crystal identity to allocate magnetic Gd ions on two interpenetrated corners of cubiccrystal analogy. Sublattice share of triangular geometry among Gd ions bear magnet isotropy tosubject sharp response devoid of dipole …
