Impact of Sugarcane Molasses on Compressive Strength and Workability
Abstract: Molasses used as admixture increase the workability, it is a by-product of sugar industry. In this study, mechanical property such as compressive strength and workability of concrete adding fly ash and sugarcane molasses has been investigated. Adding the molasses in concrete increase the compressive strength, delay the initial and final setting time, reduced the bleeding and segregation of concrete and decrease the W/C ratio. The compressive strength test results showed …

Water Pollution by Sugar Factory Molasses: Case Study Solapur District Area from India
Abstract: AbstractIn the area of Solapur District, Maharashtra state, India, there are many sugar factories. During themanufacturing process of cane sugar, there is a lot of wastewater released from the factory. Thiswastewater contains many hazardous chemicals. This wastewater, dropped in the fields is mixed withsoil & percolated inside rocks. Every year in summer the water level in this area gets very deep. Atthat time free air fills the soil joints. After …

Computational Simulation of Continuous Centrifugal Machine using Computational Fluid Dynamics
Abstract: In this paper, the centrifugal machine which is used in a sugar industry has been analysed. The centrifugal machine is used for the separation of the molasses and the sugar crystals from the massecuite. The objective behind the analysis of the flow in the centrifuge is to achieve the reduction in the separation process time using the Computational Fluid Dynamics and to increase the tonnes/hour output of the sugar. The …

Case Studies On Synthesis Of PLLA Bioplastic Starting From Food And Agricultural Wastes
Abstract: Polylaevo Lactic Acid (PLLA) is an excellent biopolymer that is biodegradable and has characteristics exactly similar to polystyrene. However, at present, the market price of this biopolymer is significantly higher than polystyrene and other synthetic plastics. The major hindrances to the large scale manufacture of this polymer are the lack of availability of a cheap raw material and the overall economy of synthesis of lactic acid from the same. In …

A Study to Analyze Pectin Extracted from the Peels of Lemon (Citrus lemon), Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) and Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)
Abstract: The present study carried out was on the production of the lactic acid by the lactic acid bacteria under the submerged fermentation conditions using three different supplements of fermentation media including sugarcane juice, sugar beet juice and sugarcane molasses. The study also aimed on the comparative study in lactic acid production under different substrates. For this, the lactic acid bacteria were isolated from the curd sample by the spread plate …
