KINETICS AND MECHANISM OF OXIDATION OF MIXTURE OF OXALIC ACID AND ADIPIC ACID BY CHROMIC ACID IN PRESENCE OF HYDROCHLORIC ACID
Abstract: The kinetics of oxidation of mixture of oxalic acid and adipic acid by chromic acid in presence of hydrochloric has been studied. The products are succinic acid and carbon dioxide. The rate of oxidation increases with the increase in the concentration of HCl acid. kinetics of oxidation of mixture of oxalic acid and adipic acid by chromic acid shows first order reaction at 270 c, order of the reaction is …

Greener ways of synthesizing Styrene oxide
Abstract: Styrene oxide is a key intermediate used in the fragrance, flavour, polymer and pharmaceutical industries, basically synthesized through processes such as epoxidation followed by distillation. These methods generate effluents that give rise to significant environmental challenges and rendering large-scale commercial production non-viable. The urgency for a greener and more economically viable synthesis routes has given rise to the exploration of alternative methods that produces lesser effluent generation. Enzymatic synthesis offers …

Kinetic and Mechanistic Study of Oxidation of Benzydamine Hydrochloride by Permanganate (VII) in Acidic Medium
Abstract: The kinetics and mechanism of Permanganate (Mn (VII)) oxidation of Benzydamine hydrochloride (B.HCl) in acidic medium has been studied at 26 ± 0.1°C. The reaction shows first order dependence in [Mn (VII)], less than unit order in [B.HCl] and fractional order dependence in [H2SO4]. Variation of ionic strength by the addition of KCl has no significant effect on the rate. The stoichiometry of the reaction is found to be 1:4 …

Comparative Study of Corrosion Inhibition In Carbon Steel Using Non Ionic Surfactants In Acidic Medium
Abstract: The use of surfactants is one of the numerous ways of protecting a metallic surface from electrochemical oxidation or corrosion. The amphiphilic nature of these surfactants leads to the formation of a protective layer on the metallic surface, effectively minimizing the area of contact between the fluids and the metal, thus inhibiting corrosion. Cationic surfactant like CTAB (Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) has been most commonly used as a corrosion inhibitor, but since …

Molecular Docking of Catharanthus Roseus Bioactive Compounds of Targetinging Bovine Leukaemia Virus
Abstract: Therapeutic potential of Catharanthus roseus bioactive compounds as the 4PHO protein inhibitors, a pathogenetic determinative factor of BLV. This work describes the use of computational drug discovery approaches in estimating the interactions conducted between 40 phytocompounds of Catharanthus roseus and the 4PHO protein. Our work has determined the presence of Pamoic acid and Vindolinine hydrochloride as the optimal choice here. Pharmacokinetic screening exhibited drug-like properties to both the highly absorbed …

Electrolytic Deposition of Zn–Ni Alloy from Acidic Sulphate Bath and Their Characterization
Abstract: A bath containing ZnSO4.7H2O, NiSO4.7H2O, thiamine hydrochloride (THC) and citric acid (CA) has been proposed. Bright Zn–Ni alloy coatings were developed galvanostatically onto mild steel (MS) and their corrosion resistance and other physical properties were studied. THC was found to improve the brightness and homogeneity of the deposit. The dependency of bath composition, current density (c.d.), pH and temperature, agitation on wt.% Ni were tested. Deposition was carried out under …

Electrodeposition of Bright Zn–Co–Fe Alloy Coatings on Mild Steel and Their Characterization
Abstract: Sulphate bath having ZnSO4. 7H2O, CoSO4. 7H2O, FeSO4.7H2O and thiamine hydrochloride (THC) and citric acid (CA) in combination, was optimized for deposition of bright Zn–Co–Fe alloy coating on mild steel. Bath constituents and operating parameters were optimized by Hull cell method, for highest corrosion performance against coating. The effect of current density on deposit characters viz., corrosion resistance, hardness, thickness, CCE were evaluated. Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) …
