A study on effects of mass flow rate and compressor pressure ratio on gas turbine cycle performance
Abstract: Gas turbines are rotating machines that work based on the energy of gases from combustion. Each gas turbine includes a compressor to compress air, a combustion chamber to mix air with fuel and ignite it, and a turbine to convert the energy of the hot, compressed gases into mechanical energy. Gas turbines have many advantages over steam turbines, such as small volume, quick installation, quick start-up, easy operation and the …

Comprehensive Review and Analysis of Gas Turbine Power Plant Performance: Impact of Operating Conditions, Ambient Temperature, and Cycle Configurations
Abstract: This study presents a comprehensive review of gas turbine (GT) power plants, focusing on simple and complex cycles. The review examines the influence of operating conditions, ambient temperature, and cycle configurations on GT performance. Turbine work and thermal efficiency decrease with increasing ambient temperature. Thermal efficiency increases linearly with compression ratio, but decreases with ambient temperature. Specific fuel consumption (SFC) increases with ambient temperature and lower turbine inlet temperature. Compression …

Design and Fabrication of Pedal Operated Air Compressor
Abstract: The first idea for powering the pump would be a stationary bicycle. Pedal power is simple, efficient, and practical. Its most familiar use is the bicycle for personal or cargo transportation. But pedals can also power small stationary machines. Since the system is to remain human powered and large amounts of power are required, having the operator use their stronger leg muscles was intuitive. A stationary pedal driven device seemed …

Analysis and Overhauling of Two Stage Reciprocating Air Compressor of a Conventional Locomotive-A Case Study
Abstract: Abstract- Reciprocating air compressor is the most widely used type of compressor found in many industrial applications and is a crucial machine in gas transmission pipelines, petrochemical plants, refineries, etc. Due to high pressure ratio requirements, reciprocating air compressor is commonly used in locomotives. After a period of life unexpected failures of internal components due to miscellaneous reasons occur, which affects the operating system performance. This paper presents a case …
