Steel under strain hardening and recrystallization
Abstract: Cold working is deformation process to obtain zero tolerance over finished parts. Requisite quantity of measurement inexpensive neither the fact by undesirable hardness increase and requirement of intervened processing, which may include machining tolerances. Moreover recrystallization another arena to circumscribe to get fine grained studies to include expenses of hardness tolerances. Nevertheless many naming tolerate many steps interleaved among steps under standard. These prevailed to write such access of simple …

Enhancement of Wear Resistance of AISI D2 Steel Slitter using Deep Cryogenic Treatment
Abstract: The cooling of material below-150C for sufficient soaking period is termed as deep cryogenic treatment (DCT). There is an improvement in wear resistance and hardness of tool and die steels due to deep cryogenic treatment. The improvement in wear resistance is observed due to precipitation of fine secondary carbides and even distribution of carbides. In present study, the slitters of AISI D2 cold work air hardening type tool steel are …

CFD-subset-FVM-based MATLAB-simulation of Heat Transfer in High Grade Cold Storage Augmenting Cryogenic Energy Storage System by Circulating Natural Gas as Working Fluid : Conceptual Review
Abstract: Abstract. Cryogenic Energy Storage (CES) improves power grid with renewable intermittent power sources. In CES, off-peak excess electricity liquefies air or natural gas. Cryogen is stored in large dewar tanks for long periods of time. Whenever electricity need is in peak, work is recovered from cryogen by a power cycle using waste heat. Many researchers focus on liquid air energy storage (LAES). But, natural gas is promising working fluid for …

The Financial Implication of Weather Condition as a Determinant of On-Site Productivity and Contract Duration
Abstract: The effects of weather conditions on construction projects is an identifiable one as inclement weather can cause a lot of upset in works being executed, particularly in substructure and the wet trades such as concrete works. A cold dry weather harsh weather as in the case of the harmattan period causes drying out before concrete sets. Wet weather such as those experienced during the rainy seasons, which in the Niger …

A Work Study on Forging Processes and Its Various Defects
Abstract: The aim of this review paper is to investigate the forging defects and mainly to understand different forging processes. A brief description about classification of forging process on the basis of temperature of work piece (hot, cold, and warm forging) and on the basis of arrangement of dies is given. Die design parameters, die material requirements and selection of proper die materials are briefly discussed. Also, briefly described the forging …

INVESTIGATE THE BULGING EFFECT OF METALLIC SOLID CYLINDER UNDER COLD UPSETTING USING FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS
Abstract: Friction is an integral part of metalworking and manufacturing processes due to the relative motion and forces continually acting on tools, dies, and workpieces. Friction both raises the effort and consumes energy. However, measuring friction is not straightforward and cannot be considered an independent parameter. In many metal-forming procedures, the impact of friction is just as crucial as other quantifiable factors. Various methods have been used to estimate friction, assuming …

Enhancement of Heat Transfer Coefficient in Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Using 1-Butyl-3-Methylimidzaolium Bromide
Abstract: Improvement in heat transfer coefficient in heat exchanger plays very important energy saving role in the industries. In this study the effect of ionic liquid on HT coefficient was studied using a lab scale shell and tube heat exchanger (length-39 cm, shell diameter 9 cm, Tube diameter 0.62 cm). Also the effect of cold and hot flow rate on heat transfer coefficient, Effect of mass concentration of ionic liquid was …

Development of Geo-Polymer based Light Weight Bricks
Abstract: Light weight geopolymer bricks were developed during this study. The mix was made with lime sodium silicate and fly ash as ingredients. A maximum shrinkage was observed at CaO lime ratio of 1.0. Bulk densities were also lower at the ratio of 1.0. The maximum cold crushing strength (CCS) value was found at the ratio of 0.745. Increase in mix water decreased the strength. Water content of 24% is recommended …

Effect of Piston Diameter on Internal Combustion Engine Having Six Cylinders
Abstract: Earlier as in the case of petrol or diesel engine when more power is required or if there are some kind of unwanted exhaust emission then oversized pistons are used which are generally larger in diameter as compared to standard one. This paper mainly based on change in performance of the internal combustion engine having six cylinders by changing the diameter of piston. This paper compares various piston diameter performance …
