Characterization of CeO2-NiO Thin Film Produced by Jet Nebuliser Technique
Abstract: CeO2 –NiO composite solution was sprayed as thin films by using JET nebulizer technique at the substrate temperature of 250°C. The film was characterized by X-ray diffractometer and crystallite size, lattice constant, crystallinities, phase transformations were measured. The UV-Vis spectrometer analysis was used to calculate the band gap, absorbance and percentage of transmission of the thin films was reported. The emission and excitation spectra of the sample were reported. The …

Influence of CeO2 nanoparticles on the corrosion behavior of electrodeposited Ni coatings
Abstract: Nickel-Ceria (Ni-CeO2) nanocomposite coatings were developed on mild steel (MS) substrate using electrodeposition method. The codeposition of the nanoparticles was achieved from the optimized Ni plating bath loaded with CeO2 nanoparticles (particle size <20 nm). Ni and Ni-CeO2 coatings were achieved at a wide current density (c.d.) range from 1.0 to 5.0 A/dm2 under optimal conditions, and their corrosion protection efficacy was examined in 5% NaCl medium. The material property …

Effect of Al2O3 and CeO2 Nanocatalysts on Biodiesel Yield from Pine and Soapnut Oils
Abstract: Abstract This study examines the influence of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and cerium oxide (CeO2) nanocatalysts on the biodiesel yield obtained from two non-edible oils: pine oil and soapnut oil. Both oils were extracted through mechanical pressing and converted into biodiesel using the transesterification process. To understand how different process conditions, affect biodiesel production, a Box–Behnken Design (BBD) was used. Three key variables—methanol-to-oil ratio, catalyst concentration, and reaction temperature—were analyzed to …

Preparation and Characterization of Ce-Si-SBA-15 Modified With Iron
Abstract: Recently environmental concerns have driven the development of specialized catalysts to prevent polluting substances from being released into the environment. New technologies have improvised our understanding of catalytic functions as well as selectivity in order to save the energy and chemicals. Today, catalysis is the workhorse in the chemical industry with approximately >90% of the products produced in catalytic processes. In addition, life cannot exist without catalysis, as virtually all …
