Fe, Cr, Cu, Ni and Mn Concentration Determination from Matatilla Water System by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy
Abstract: This study was conducted to assess the extent of heavy metal in the Matatilla Dam water systems. Water quality is effect by the many substance water contacts during its movement through the hydrological system. Water dissolves a wide variety of minerals, nutrients and other substance from soils, rocks and atmosphere carries them in water system. Lake streams and ground water accumulate these dissolve substance and reflect distinctive characteristic of this …

Analytical Evaluation of heavy metals in eyeshadows: A Risk assessment and Implications for Public Health Regulatory Reforms in Nigeria
Abstract: This study employs advanced analytical techniques to assess heavy metal contamination (Pb, Cd, Cr, Ni, Zn) in 18 commercially available eyeshadow products (local and imported) from Owerri Metropolis, Nigeria. Quantification was conducted using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), while risk evaluations incorporated chemometric modeling approaches. Results revealed significant contamination in locally manufactured brands, particularly those containing calabash chalk (Nzu) as a base ingredient. Lead and nickel concentrations reached 166.58 ± 6.5 …

Green and Nanotechnology Approaches for the Determination of Tungsten (VI): A Modern Analytical Perspective
Abstract: The determination of tungsten (VI) has gained increasing importance due to its extensive industrial applications and growing environmental relevance. Tungsten is widely used in alloys, catalysts, electronics, and energy systems, leading to its release into environmental matrices such as water, soil, and biological systems. Accurate monitoring of tungsten at trace and ultra-trace levels is therefore essential for environmental assessment and industrial quality control. Conventional analytical techniques, including inductively coupled plasma …

How Heavy Metal Minerals Affect the Quality of Soil and Groundwater
Abstract: Heavy metal minerals polluting soil and groundwater is becoming a major environmental issue because these components are not biodegradable and last a long time. This study examines the degree to which heavy metals, including lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), mercury (Hg), and chromium (Cr), affect the chemical and physical characteristics of soil and groundwater in regions impacted by industrial, agricultural, and mining operations. Soil and water samples were obtained …

Zn2+ Biosorption Efficiency of a Nostoc sp. Isolated From a Coal Mine in Sohra, Meghalaya
Abstract: A Nostoc isolate obtained from a coal mine at Sohra in Meghalaya was evaluated for biosorption potential for Zn2+ which was one of the metal ions besides Cu2+, Cd2+, Fe3+, Mn2+ and Pb2+ found in water samples collected from the site. Zn2+ uptake potential of the cyanobacterium was analyzed calculating amount of ions removed by the isolate from Zn2+ supplemented media using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). The organism recorded a …

Heterocyclic Oxadiazole Derivatives Through Various Spectroscopic Techniques as UV, IR.
Abstract: The study focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and analysis of heterocyclic oxadiazole derivatives using various spectroscopic techniques, including UV-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Oxadiazoles are a type of five-membered heterocyclic compounds with nitrogen and oxygen atoms. They are important in medical chemistry and materials research and show a wide range of biological activity. The synthesized oxadiazole derivatives were characterized through UV-Vis spectroscopy to investigate their electronic transitions and …

Article on Density Functional Theory Simulation: A Review
Abstract: Density Functional Theory (DFT) is a powerful computational approach in quantum mechanics, widely utilized for studying the electronic structure of atoms, molecules, and solids. It treats electron density as the central quantity, bypassing the complexities of solving the Schrödinger equation for individual electrons. The Hohenberg-Kohn theorem establishes that a system's ground-state energy uniquely depends on its electron density, facilitating a focus on this fundamental property. In DFT, the total energy …
