Isolation and Characterization of Rhizosphere-Competent Indigenous Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacteria for Biofertilizer Applications
Abstract: Phosphorus (P) is an essential nutrient for crop growth and development. Low levels of P in soil is due to high reactivity of soluble P with calcium (Ca), iron (Fe) or aluminum (Al) that lead to P precipitation. Mineral phosphate (P) solubilization is an important activity of rhizospheric bacteria that contribute significantly to the plant growth and development in eco-friendly manner. Four potent phosphate solubilizers (PSB-2, PSB-3, PSB-4 and PSB-7), …

In Vitro Evaluation of Bioremediation Capacity of a Commercial Probiotic, Bacillus clausii, for Chromium (VI) and Lead (II) Toxicity
Abstract: Heavy metals cause disastrous effects on any living organisms. Probiotics have the ability to reduce metal toxicity. Commercial probiotics having bioremediation capacity can use these bacteria as an alternative to conventional remediation methods. The bioaccumulation of heavy metals including chromium (VI) (Cr [VI]) and lead (II) (Pb [II]) causes fatal toxicity in humans. Some naturally occurring bacterial species, such as Bacillus and Pseudomonas, contribute their role in bioremediation of these …

Investigation on Synthesis and Evaluation of Nanopore NaA Zeolite Membranes
Abstract: Effects of synthesis parameters on the membrane structure and performance have been investigated for nanopore NaA zeolite membranes grown onto seeded mullite supports. Molar composition of the starting gel of nano NaA membranes was: SiO2/Al2O3=0.8–3.2, Na2O/Al2O3=1.6–4.6, and H2O/Al2O3=50–200. Also, effects of crystallization time and temperature on the membrane performance were studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of the membranes exhibited peaks corresponding to the support and the zeolite. The crystal species …
