Facile Fabrication of Durable Superhydrophobic Coatings on SS 304 for biomedical applications
Abstract: A simple and effective method to fabricate durable superhydrophobic coatings by combining shot-blasting and depositing sol-gel nanocomposite coatings on stainless steel SS 304 substrates has been investigated. Shot-blasting was used for two purposes; 1) as a method of physical modification for creating microscale roughness on the substrate and 2) for improving the adhesion of the nanocomposite coatings deposited thereafter. Organic-inorganic hybrid hydrophobic silica sol was synthesized where silica nanoparticles were …

Importance of the Cultural Heritage and its Methods of Preservation
Abstract: Cultural heritage is the legacy that we have received from previous generations. It is a collection of sites, objects, and traditions that bring together art and history and all the values of different cultures around the globe. Cultural heritage includes tangible culture and intangible culture.Cultural heritage sites and objects are rare on this earth's surface and have outstanding universal value to humanity. Therefore, the main aim of preserving cultural heritage …

Sustainable Labware Solutions: A Study of Biodegradable Modified Polypropylene for Sterilization‑Resistance
Abstract: This study investigated the impact of incorporating a 1‑3% by weight of biodegradable additive into polypropylene (PP) using twin‑screw extrusion, followed by injection molding to prepare test specimens. The effects of the additive on the rheological, thermal, mechanical, and optical properties of PP were investigated, along with the impact of two common sterilization methods: autoclave (121°C, 15 min, 0.11 MPa) and electron beam (E-Beam, 50 kGy) irradiation. The results showed …

Synthesis and characterization of high saline water resistant sulphur composite from petrochemical waste
Abstract: Petrochemical industry produces variety of side products and waste materials like sulphur, spent catalysts, spent adsorbents, etc. These waste materials can be converted to the value-added products by forming their composites with unique properties. For example, sulphur due to its chemical properties like high resistivity to corrosive environment, hydrophobic nature, antifungal property, its composite can be prepared and used in construction industries as a substitute for cement composite material. To …

MWCNT AND GRAPHENE FOR IMPROVED CORROSION RESISTANCE OF MILD STEEL
Abstract: ABSTRACTThe protective coating method is a passive corrosion protection technique. The protective coating detaches the metallic surfaces from the aggressive media, such as moisture, salts, acids etc. Nanotechnology is a relatively modern development in scientific research, the development of this concept occurred over a very short period of time. One technique that has recently been used to increase the adhesive and anti-corrosive properties of polymer coatings is the addition of …

Planar-to-Rotary G-code Transformation Via Post-Processing for Discrete 4-Axis Machining
Abstract: Conventional 4-axis CNC machining remains inaccessible to many due to the high costs of industrial hardware and the complexity of firmware modifications for entry-level controllers. This paper presents a software-defined framework that enables Planar-to-Rotary G-code Transformation, allowing standard 3-axis CNC systems to perform discrete 4-axis machining without hardware retrofits or firmware changes. The core of the proposed method is a custom Python-based post-processor that maps Cartesian XZ toolpaths onto a …

Analytical Study of Ceramic Compositions: Lamination and Fracture Toughness
Abstract: This study investigates the characteristics and fabrication techniques of laminated ceramic composites, focusing on various glass-ceramic systems, including alumina, BaTiO3/Al2O3, and LiO2‐ZrO2‐SiO2‐Al2O3 (LZSA). The inherent brittleness of ceramics, attributed to surface flaws and their limited toughness, necessitates the development of layered structures to enhance mechanical reliability. Layered ceramics demonstrate improved fracture toughness, crucial for applications in aerospace, biomedicine, and military armor. Techniques such as tape casting, electrophoretic deposition, and advanced …

Nanoparticles to Control Stranded Packing of DNAs
Abstract: We report here on new optic and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements concerning the formation of the dispersions from double-stranded (ds) DNA molecules, doped with negatively charged gold nanoparticles (nano-Au). The nano-Au fixation nearby the surfaces of linear ds DNA in solution of high ionic strength (0.3 M NaCl) and subsequent phase exclusion of (ds DNA-nano-Au) complexes from solution containing poly(ethylene glycol) results in decrease in the amplitude of abnormal …

Gene Editing: Rewriting the Life and Consequences
Abstract: ABSTRACTGene editing is the rational, precise and candid modification of DNA sequences or genes in living cells and organisms, literally for anything and everything possible. Its manifestation ranging from designing disease resistant crops or therapeutic correction of defective genes responsible for myriad of debilitating diseases in human beings to reprogramming of organisms that can produce new sophisticated and potent biologicals. The possible implication of gene editing is wide ranging and …
