Artificial neural network based classification of varieties of thin and thick fabric images
Abstract: Abstract: The proposed work focuses on classification of varieties of thin and thick fabric materials from images. The morphological operations such as erosion and dilation are performed. Morphological features namely, avg_moments, average_area, roundness, max_area, average_perimeter, average_eccentricity, circularity and average_equivalent_diameter are extracted. The prediction is carried out using artificial neural network. The classification rates of 84.84% and 90.90% are obtained for thin and thick fabric images. The classification rates for varieties …

Recent Trends in Production, Characterization, and Utilization of Fungal Chitosan
Abstract: Chitosan is the second most abundant biopolymer in nature after cellulose that can be extracted from marine sources, as well as from agricultural waste products such as mushrooms or other fungal sources following chitin deacetylation. The consistent production of these glycans by fungi is unaffected by seasonal changes, allowing for precise process control. This results in a more consistent quality of the final product. Currently, crustacean shells and other marine …

Oxidative Desulfurization of Petroleum
Abstract: One of the most successful desulfurization procedures for the creation of ultra-low sulphur import fuels is oxidative desulfurization, which converts aromatic sulfur-containing molecules into sulfone counterparts before being extracted. Oxidative desulfurization processes using graphene oxide are of great interest for fuel sulfur removal. Its technique of desulfurization in reactions catalyzed was thoroughly detailed in this review, along with graphene’s function as a supported catalyst, the findings of research on oxidative …

Predicting User Engagement on Social Media: A Comparative Study of Machine Learning-based Modeling Approaches
Abstract: Abstract Even while mobile social apps are becoming more and more important in people's daily lives, little is known about the elements that motivate users to interact with these apps. The goal of this work is to analyze and define the transition patterns of individual users' in-app actions as a temporally changing action graph. According to our investigation, action graphs are a useful tool for characterizing user behaviour patterns and …

Monitoring Nature of Nairobi City Land Features from Landsat 5 Images Using Index-Based Mapping
Abstract: Urban environments are complex and heterogeneous ecosystems characterized by mixed land use and land cover (LULC). They form important centers of social integration and generation of national wealth. However, urban areas especially in developing countries suffer from poor planning; mismanagement and uncoordination. Evaluation of dynamics driven by LULC changes in these ecosystems is key in management of urban areas. In evaluating urban environments, land use and land cover mapping using …
