Green Adhesive—Using Glyoxalated Lignin and Hydrogenated Resin as Ecologically Safe Wood Adhesive for Interior Plywood
Abstract: Petroleum-based adhesive such as urea formaldehyde and phenol formaldehyde resin dominates adhesive market which releases formaldehyde and VOC to the environment. The purpose of this study is to develop an adhesive based on isocyanate in combination with compounds from renewable sources like lignin, protein and starch. Adhesive formulation was developed by incorporation of hydrogenated resin, corn starch/PVOH emulsion with glyoxalated lignin (GL) and evaluation properties of the adhesive with plywood …

Environment Friendly, Exterior Grade Resin Adhesive from Phenol-Animal Glue Formaldehyde (PGF)
Abstract: Phenoplast and aminoplast based resins are the important adhesive for the manufacturing of marine grade, shuttering and moisture resistance plywood. Environmental concerns and higher cost of petroleum based resins have resulted in the development of technologies to replace phenol partially by biomaterials for the manufacturing of resin adhesive. Natural bio-based materials such as tannin, CNSL (cardanol), lignin soya etc. are used as partial substitution of phenol. This paper presents the …

Enhancement of Fire Retardancy Properties of Plywood by Incorporating Silicate, Phosphate and Boron Compounds as Additives in PMUF Resin
Abstract: Wood is one of the supreme sustainable, naturally growing materials that consist principally of combustible organic carbon compounds. Since plywood are widely used now a day especially in buildings, furniture and cabinets. Since the demand of plywood with fire retardancy properties has been increasing over last years, the objective of this study is to improve the fire retardancy of Wood Panel Products by adding Tricresyl phosphate, Di-Sodiumocta Borate and Sodium …

Drag Reduction Annular Flow with Poly Acryl Amide Additive
Abstract: Drag reduction studies have been showed in annular flow with polyacrylamide additive. The percentage drag reduction in annular pipe flow ranges between 85–98% as the diameter increased from 0.02 to 0.033 m. The percentage drag decrease of 89 to 98% is detected as the polyacrylamide concentration is varied from 50 to 200 ppm. The correlation for drag reduction and Reynolds number is presented here under DR = 2.06Re-0.037. Keywords: Drag …
