Awareness of Total Quality Management and Extent Used in Construction Projects
Abstract: Construction industry is a major sector in India with country’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of9% (2017) as per world bank. For increasing the share from such sector in this competitive environment TQM can be used as tool of strategy. TQM is a management strategy focusing on the customer satisfaction through continuous improvement of the process and enhancing team work. Here all employees associated with the project are involved to follow …

Mathematical Model for the Predictionof Compressive Strength of High Performance Concrete (HPC) Containing Saw Dust Ash and Superplasticizer
Abstract: This paper examined the prediction of compressive strength of High Performance Concrete (HPC) containing Saw Dust Ash (SDA) and Conplast SP 430 (superplasticizer), using Osadebe’s regression theory. The model developed was tested for adequacy at 95 % level of confidence using F-Statistic and was found to be reliable. A computer program written in visual basic 6.0 based on the model formulated was invoked for quick prediction of the mix ratios corresponding …

Optimization of Compressive Strength of Snail Shell Ash Blended Cement Concrete
Abstract: In this paper, a mathematical model is developed to optimize the compressive strength and the corresponding values of the mixture proportions of snail shell ash blended cement concrete using Scheffe’s regression method.A computer program written in qbasic language was invoked to quicken the selection of the cheapest mix ratios and the corresponding value of compressive strength of concrete. The mix ratio that optimized the compressive strength was found to be …

Experimental Study of Replacement of VSI Sand by Sea Sand in Concrete
Abstract: Concrete is a construction material used widely over the world and it is very difficult to find versatile alternative for concrete. Concrete is made up of cement, fine aggregates (sand), coarse aggregates and water. Fine aggregate is one of the constituents of concrete which influences concrete mix design substantially. Generally river sand / crushed sand is used as fine aggregate. But considering today’s situation, due to greater demand of river …
