  1. Chukwuemeke. P Ukpaka

Abstract

Mathematical model was developed to monitor, predict and simulate the pneumatic proportional integral controller transfer function for step input process response. The model developed was based on the geometric arrangement as well as the distance of the flapper from the nozzle was considered to be small, where the capacitance C is constant and R is the resistance of the integral restrictor. The characteristics of the process was monitored, predicted and simulated using parameters and the mathematical model developed as well as the concepts of separation of variables and Laplace Transformation techniques applied to achieve the evaluation of the function parameters that controls the process. The results obtained from the research revealed the usefulness of the approach adopted in demonstrating the model for prediction of pneumatic proportional integral controller transfer function for step input process response. Key words: prediction, pneumatic proportional, integral controller, transfer function, step input, process response
