Abstract

In nanotechnology field, invention of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is a noteworthy development. It creates the door for advanced development in scientific field. Due to their appealing mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties, SWCNTs have multivarious usages. In this work, we have examined and predicted how SWCNT will affect the device performance in which Thionine dye is intercalated between Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coated glass and aluminium (Al) to form the device. As they are flexible, lightweight, and affordable, organic materials have a broad range of applications. Despite these benefits, organic devices have some drawbacks, one of which is barrier formation at metal-organic contact. Because of high barrier, there is little charge infusion, which can be linked to high trap energy (Et). To enhance charge infusion, efforts must be made to lower ???????? and Et. To determine the influence of SWCNTs on device's ????????, Et, and Vth, we have measured the device's I-V properties. SWCNT reduces Et from 0.054 eV to 0.045 eV, ???????? from 0.77 eV to 0.63 eV, and Vth from 3.5 V to 2.5 V as a consequence. Reduced ????b and Et with SWCNT suggests improved charge infusion through contact. Appropriate doping of SWCNT into dye will change the ???????? and Et, which will attribute to reduce Vth and improve conductivity. This research contributes to the understanding of one of the key uses of SWCNTs in the research area of organic electronics.
