Abstract

AbstractLi is abundant in nature amounting 20 mg/kg of the earth crust. Li widely used in Li ion batteries (LIBs), powerLIBs, chemicals, ceramics, glasses, rubber, reactors, pharmacy, space sectors and alloyed to Al. Sources of Li are natural deposit of minerals, salt crust, brine, salt lakes and ocean basin accumulations. Economical route of extractions are hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy. Sorption of selective element by inorganic ion exchange applied for poor containment in water and brine. Recycling of LIBs bear primary importance in explore of economical hydrometallurgy. Toxicity of heavy element and electrolytes remained same as abated by plant rules during production as well dispose or recovery processing. Coal contains abrupt varying Li content to explore mechanism of accumulation. LIBs to power LIBs enhanced consumption mt continuously to study life cycles of Li in addition to new add.KeywordsLithium, Toxic, Extraction, Mineral, Bittern, LIBs
