Impact of Nanotechnology in Textile Industry: A Review

  1. Alpana Chaudhary

Abstract

The preface of nanotechnology has revitalized several sectors, including the cloth assiduity. The current state of nanotechnology operation in fabrics is estimated, with a focus on enhancing different textile rates. Because of the unique features of nanoparticles and nanofibers, they may be utilized to produce fabrics with superior mechanical strength, chemical resistance, water repellence, antibacterial capabilities, and a plethora of other parcels that aren't possible with conventional accoutrements. Advancements in nanotechnology operation areas in the cloth assiduity similar as high-tech fibers, stay-clean fabrics, antibacterial fabrics, antistatic fabrics, color-changing fabrics, UV-guarding fabrics, honey retardant fabrics, and fabrics healing and nourishing the mortal body are covered. Nanomaterials are now being used in the product of fabrics. Most textile materials come into direct and extended contact with human flesh. So, the impact of carcinogenic and hazardous compounds found in textiles must be thoroughly investigated. Proper identification of the potential advantages and unintended consequences of nanomaterials to our environment is critical for advancing their development in the next years. The current paper's findings are expected to raise awareness about the potential impact of nanomaterial containing textile wastes and the importance of better legislation for the eventual disposal of these wastes.
