Abstract

We propose an OFDM coding scheme for image transmission over wireless fading channels in this paper. OFDM is a digital data modulation technique that splits a single data stream into numerous sub-streams for transmission over multiple channels. We examine the MSE vs SNR of OFDM signals in multipath slowly fading channels in detail. The proposed system uses a rate control algorithm for image coding and an adaptive modulation OFDM system for communication coding. On a fading channel, we put the system through its paces. The simulation results for MSE and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of the received image at various rates are shown, proving the contribution of our approach across this problematic channel. By dividing the transmission channel into a number of orthogonal subchannels, OFDM technology can achieve high bit rates and good spectrum efficiency. The functionality and overall performance of an OFDM system in the presence of a simulated AWGN channel are investigated in this work using digital data corresponding to a two-dimensional (2D) gray-scale image in the MATLAB simulation environment. Various configurations of well-known modulation schemes including BPSK, QPSK, and M-QAM are explored within the OFDM system for system evaluation, and essential valid conclusions are derived from a comparison of multiple observable MATLAB simulation resultsTo avoid inter-symbol interference in a single carrier communication system, the symbol period must be significantly larger than the delay time (ISI). Because data rate is inversely related to symbol period, long symbol periods result in low data rates and ineffective transmission. The transmission channel is divided into a number of subchannels using OFDM, which allows for high data rates and efficient spectrum usage.
