Abstract

One of the most important resources for human well-being and a major factor in a nation's socioeconomic development is water. In addition to being necessary for human survival and that of all other living things, water is also essential for industrialization and agriculture. The total amount of water on Earth is constant and sufficient to supply all of civilization's needs, yet global supplies of drinkable water are running out quickly.  If not managed properly, human activities such as population growth, the release of hazardous chemicals into the environment, the untreatment of sewage, climate change, and others have an impact on water supplies in densely populated areas.
