Application of COM-LOG Technique for Edge Detection of Images: An Emerging Methodology

Abstract

In this paper, an emerging edge detection method for computing the edges of several images using the concept of Center of Mass (COM) with Laplacian of Gaussian (LOG) Operator is presented. This method can be used as framework for multi-scale edge detectors for several images in image processing. Multi-scale edge detector needs to compute gradient on different scales. Here the edge detection by COM technique with LOG operator is compared with simply COM technique. Experimental result shows that edge detection by COM-LOG technique is compared with COM edge detection technique.
