Analytical Profiling of Processed Printer Inks on Papers for Inorganic Trace Elements by Energy Dispersive X-Ray MicroanalysisBy Tulsidas R. Baggi, Rashmi Sharma, A. K. Gupta
Abstract: For the forensic examination of printed documents, an attempt has been made to determine the elemental composition of inks of ink jet printer taken from sample documents using nondestructive technique of Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometry and in order to generate the analytical profiling of printed inks for inorganic trace elements leading to the differentiation of printers. All the four primary inks used in printers are the matrix of …

A Sensitive Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Diazepam with MBTHBy Tulsidas R. Baggi, Nadadhur Geeta
Abstract: A sensitive, specific spectrophotometric method for the determination of diazepam in bulk drug and formulations has been developed. The diazepam is hydrolyzed to yield 2-Methylamino-5- chlorobenzophenone which is coupled with 3-Methyl benzthiazolinone-2-hydrazone, in the presence of ceric ammonium sulphate as an oxidizing agent, to yield a blue colored solution having an absorbance maximum at 585 nm. It obeys Beer’s law in the concentration range of 0 – 4 µg / …

Spectrophotometric Determination of Salicylates in Urine using 3-Methylbenzthiazolinone – 2 – hydrazoneBy N. Geeta, Tulsidas R. Baggi
Abstract: A sensitive (direct or with column partition chromatography) spectrophotometric method for the determination of salicylates in urine using 3 – methylbenzthiazolinone - 2 – hydrazone in the presence of ceric ammonium sulfate as an oxidizing agent is presented. Beer’s law is obeyed in the concentration range of 0 – 1.6 µg ml -1. The method is accurately reproducible and can be applied in the analysis of salicylates in urine. The …

A New Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Psilocin and PsilocybinBy K. Lavanya, Tulsidas R. Baggi
Abstract: A rapid new spectrophotometric method is developed for the determination of psilocin and psilocybin using the oxidative coupling reaction with 3-methylbenzthiazolinone-2-hydrazone. The method is precise and accurate. It can be applied to the estimation of psilocin and psilocybin in forensic exhibits. Keywords: 3-methylbenzthiazolinone-2-hydrazone, psilocin, psilocybin, spectrophotometry
