Abstract: Acetone- chloroform is a maximum boiling azeotropic mixture which is frequently observed in the pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals industries. Conventional distillation does not yield the desired separation into pure components that is Acetone and Chloroform. Present work, focuses on separation of mixture by Extractive Distillation (ED) using PRO/II simulation software.
