Abstract: Transillumination is defined as passing of a light through the walls of a body part or organs to facilitate medical inspection 30. In transillumination, the hemoglobin within the vessel absorbs the light while the surrounding tissue scatters it thereby providing a suitable contrast between the vein and surrounding subcutaneous tissue.
