Abstract: The study analyzes groundwater quality in the hard rock terrain of the upper Ponnaiyar watershed using statistical methods and chemical parameters. 27 water samples were collected from bore wells for pre monsoon and post monsoon periods and were tested for various parameters such as Electrical conductivity (EC), pH, Total dissolved solids (TDS), Total Hardness (TH), Sulphate (SO4), Chloride (Cl), Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe), Fluoride and Manganese (Mn).
